Carp Reels

Carp fishing reels are generally divided into two main categories: Big Pit reels and Baitrunner (freespool) reels. Big Pit models are designed with oversized spools to facilitate extreme casting distances and provide high cranking power for hauling large fish from long range. Conversely, Baitrunner reels feature a secondary drag system that allows a fish to take line freely until the angler engages the main drag by turning the handle. Modern reels often incorporate advanced features like Slow Cross Wrap for perfect line lay, Quick Drag (QD) for rapid adjustment during a fight, and lightweight composite bodies to maintain balance with high-modulus rods.
