Fishing bivvies and brollies provide the essential protection needed to endure the unpredictable British weather during long-session angling. A bivvy is a robust, tent-like shelter featuring a heavy-duty groundsheet and a "pram-hood" or "block" frame, designed to house a bedchair and luggage for several days. For shorter day sessions or overnight trips in summer, many anglers prefer a brolly system, which is based on an umbrella-style frame that is much faster to set up and lighter to carry. High-end models utilize advanced breathable fabrics (like Trakker’s Aquatexx or Fox’s Ven-Tec) that reduce condensation and offer hydrostatic head ratings of 10,000mm or more, ensuring the angler remains bone-dry even in torrential downpours.
